Inside Outside; A Source of Inspired Garden Rooms

My book, Inside Outside; A Source of Inspired Garden Rooms (Timber Press) has gone back to the printers (a mix up in paper quality) so even though it’s on Amazon and still available for advance purchase (hint hint) it probably won’t launch until the middle of summer.

I’m currently finishing up a monograph I’ve been working on for the last couple of years with Kate Hume. Rizzoli will publish it in the Spring of 2020.

Future talking engagements include –
An evening at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, Mass where I’ll introduce my Inside Outside book (7pm on August 15th).
An evening at the New Canaan Historical Society in Connecticut when I’ll talk about the History of Footwear in conjunction with one of their exhibitions on June 20th at 6pm
I’ll also give the same New Canaan Shoe talk at the wonderful Stone Ridge library at a future date, yet to be confirmed.

Please be in touch if you’d like more info on any of these events.

Spring 2018

I’m finally out of book hibernation and my text and images are working their way through the edit and layout process at Timber Press. Pub date May 2019. This one is about the symbiosis between interior design and landscaping.

Once again, I’ll be moderating at this year’s Legends in Los Angeles between May 8-10. If you haven’t attended the La Cienega Design Quarter events before it’s SO worth while. It’s a testament to the talent and supportive, community spirit that’s characteristic of the west coast design community.

Upcoming events in 2017

Apologies for not updating my site more often but I have a couple of events coming up that I would like to mention. Once again I’ll be moderating a panel discussion during the Architectural Design show in Manhattan.  It reunites me with one of my favorite people, Vicente Wolf, and let’s me spend time with a new acquaintance, a talented interior designer named Katie Scott. We’ll discuss the concept of spirituality as it relates to Interior Design at 1.30pm on Sunday, March 19th. If you plan to attend the AD show please drop by and of course, say hallo afterwards.

I’m glad to report that the super talented Lee Stanton invited me back to this year’s La Cienega Design Quarter event in May to moderate a couple of panel discussions. The first is a Keynote with the theme – Grey Expectations: Are Muted Colors a Commitment or a Cop out? The theme of the second panel discussion, a TLC Forum, is yet to be determined. If you haven’t ever attended the event in May it’s well worth a trip to Los Angeles. It attracts the best in our profession and all of the events are collegial, informative and fun. I can’t recommend it more highly!

I’ve started work on a new book that will explore the relationship between landscaping and interior design. I’m still in the research stage and I’m enjoying it tremendously. It enables me to once again collaborate with one of my favorite editors and it will be my first book for Timber Press.

STAY TUNED – In a few months I’ll begin work on another book for Rizzoli. It’s a monograph and focuses on the portfolio of one of the most talented interior designers/architects I know. I haven’t signed the contract yet but when I do I’ll post more info about it.

Be well and thanks for keeping up with all of my adventures!

All Things White

The event where we discussed all things white at the Miele showroom in Manhattan on Thursday, March 7th went very well. It was great to spend an extended period of time with a group of smart bloggers including Leslie Clagett, Saxon Henry and Rose Gilbert.
